Hello everyone!

Today, I'll be reviewing one of my new favorites, a natural, light highlighter or an illuminating cosmetic product, Benefit's "Girl Meets Pearl"! I've tested this product and added my thoughts, qualms and loves for onset application, HD film worthy application and of course every day wear. Enjoy!

Usage: Girl Meets Pearl is a lustrous, illuminating, lightly shimmery, sun kissed highlighter or glow enhancer with a light pink undertone. This product is meant to be worn as a cheekbone enhancer principally for a soft yet glowing highlight or addition to a contour, but can also be used all over the body to add a soft luminosity to the skin. I would recommend using this primarily as suggested, as a light cheekbone contour to complete a romantic, summery pinky glow. This really looks wonderful with almost any kind of cosmetic look, from light and natural, to golden palettes with bronzy neutrals, to expressions with a pop of color. This soft highlight is both flattering and glamorous. I was pretty impressed, and instantaneously fell in love.
Affordability and Size: I snagged the 12.0ml/0.4 oz "roller" for $30.00, which would probably send this closer to the high end price range for highlighters. It's not a terrible price, but not cheap either. This highlighter really has a lot of product within the package however, and the quality makes it well worth the price. One should last you at least a year or so.

Packaging: This product comes in a Pink and Purple metallic cylinder that stands upright. You pop off the cap, which has a protective clear cap underneath it to prevent any potential product spill mess. Pop that off, and screw the bottom to push the product to the top. The top features little holes that remind me of a waffle maker almost, which the product seeps through. Dab the stick wherever you want to see the highlight, and then blend in with your fingers or a brush. Cool package, easy usage, secure and fits easily in a kit or purse.

Color: The product's hue is obviously its selling point on this one. The product is an impeccable pearly pinkish silver, and goes on with the perfect amount of glisten. Build-able, so you can apply a natural highlight or a heavy highlight. Compliments nude eye shadows, bronze shadows, pinks of course and even bold shadows. Very versatile and absolutely beautiful. It's not too pink or too silver. Looks very natural yet gives your skin the pop or shimmer you're looking for. Perfect as a contouring accessory.

Smell: Girl Meets Pearl is slightly floral, with no overpowering scent, but definitely a hint of something springy in there. I couldn't quite put my finger on exactly what sort of flower, but it's certainly floral. It wasn't overdone however, and didn't aggravate my senses.

Effectiveness: LOVE this stuff. I've used highlighters that didn't do anything, or looked a hot mess with far too much pigment. This highlighter was in no way a fail on performance, and delivered a lovely, glowing highlight that was both buildable and flattering. I can see this complimenting any skin tone, with baby pink undertones that will bring out cheekbones, add to the beauty of a contour, or even could be used as a pearly eye shadow. Looks great on the runway, or on camera, or out on the town! One of the BEST shimmery highlighter's I've used.

Texture: Creamy and smooth but not thick and greasy. Definitely not watery either. The perfect consistency for blending and precision application.

Can you use this on film?: Absolutely. The shimmer properties are not overbearing and won't leave your actors/actresses looking like disco balls, but instead give them a lovely glow. Looks stunning on the runway also.

Can you use this for everyday wear?: Yes! Looks beautiful paired with a pink or rose blush, silver or gold shadow, bronze shadow, nude palettes and even bright vivid palettes. Very romantic, very summery! Apply it anywhere including the eyes or lips!

My Final Review: I was shocked at how much I adored this product. One of my new faves! Looks great on any skin tone, doesn't crack or crease, build-able, blendable, easy and precise application, the right amount of pigment, the right amount of shimmer. The perfect pearl!
