I've always been a fan of full coverage heavy #cakeface makeup. Lately, I've really been into the dewy finish which is so new for me!
So I tried this makeup trick that I've been wanting to try for so long just was kinda afraid of doing it honestly. I usually apply foundation, set the entire face with loose powder and then go in with my powder cheek products. Nothing wrong with that, but as I'm in my thirties, I'm noticing so many changes with my skin, one of them being, that tight, dry feeling (I have very dry skin btw) when piling on makeup. So, I've been really noticing that less is more.
As I'm lovin' this drugstore dewy finish foundation (let me know if you'd like a review), I noticed it looked gorgeous when I applied it on but after I got done with powder and everything, I just lost that incredible finish.
Okay, so the one thing I've been doing differently now is applying loose powder only under my eyes, to set the concealer and just a tiny bit to the t-zone (around the nose, lips, cupid bow) and that's it! Mind you, I have dry skin, so if you have an oily complexion and would like to try this technique, maybe just take your setting powder with you (just in case). Also, I did still set my look with setting spray in the end which is absolutely essential to this look.
The results? A very youthful, skin-like luminous finish! Paired with bronzer and my fave highlight and I've finally achieved the golden hour glow that I've been dreaming of!
