Blue Dreams - New Year's Eve Makeup Tutorial

Hi Girls!

Today I want to show you a makeup look for New Year's Eve. I choose blue colors for two reasons.

First, I have green eyes and blues emphasize them beautifully.

Second, a lot of people think that they can't use blue eye makeup and that it makes them look bad.

So I'll be demonstrating today, that if you know how to choose the right shade of blue and how to apply them, then you can create a really nice makeup look!

In this makeup look, I don't look bad, at least I didn't feel that way! I really like the way this look turned out.

By selecting metallic and shiny eyeshadows, we get a nice and unique look that is perfect for parties and evening wear.

With regard to the technique I used, I applied the eye makeup before any face makeup since I use loose shadows and it is easier to to clean up any fallout from the skin before wearing foundation, etc.

TUTORIAL:

  1. Apply an eye base to the entire eyelid. Then, apply a metallic light blue to the center of the eyelid and blue to the outer edges.
  2. Strengthen the color intensity in the outer corner with a blue eyeshadow.
  3. Build color in the outer corner of the eyelid with a dark blue and black eyeshadow. Smudge the color gradually to the inner corners.
  4. Brighten the inner corners with a white metallic eyeshadow.
  5. To the middle of the eyelid, pat a loose light blue eyeshadow.  Using a soft beige eyeshadow, gently blend the upper edges to soften the look.
  6. Clean the skin from any fallout and apply foundation, concealer and powder. Fill in the eyebrows to frame the eyes.
  7. Emphasize the lower lashline using brown and beige eyeshadows.
  8. Line your upper lashline with black eyeliner. Apply black liner to the waterline.
  9. Apply false eyelashes. Finish the look with mascara.
