Electrifying Warmth: Models on the runway for fall fashion have been sporting pops of color with nude accents, much like the nail trends for fall! This look accentuates your natural beauty by showing off your skin, while incorporating a rebellious swipe of color on the lid in the form of a vivid liner.
1.) Apply a high quality foundation all over the face. Swipe it over the brows and the lips! You'll be cover your lips with a matte lipstick, but we want to mute the brows. Make sure you can still see your eyebrows. Muting them is the goal not going eyebrowless! I used MAKEUP For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation. ( About $42.00 )
2.) Groom your brows with a brow brush, making them all swipe away from the center of your face cleanly and neatly. I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel ( About $22.00 ). You don't necessarily need a tinted one however.
3.) Apply a matte lipstick on the lips in a nude shade. I used Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick in AGATHA ( About $28.00 ).
4.) A small amount of blush saves this look from making you appear as if you should be in the next Twilight movie. Don't overdo it, you just need a tad. Apply a small amount of light, nude or neutral blush to the apples of your cheeks. I used Yves Saint Laurent CRÈME DE BLUSH - Soft Blush in Petal Pink. ( About $38.00 )
5.) Last but not least swipe on a vivid eyeliner. I loved the blue in the look the model was sporting. I used STILA Stay all day Waterproof Liner in Cobalt ( About $20.00 ). Keep the lashes minimal or completely bare!
Lash Blast: All about the lashes on this one! This palette is for the lash folks out there, and brings all of the attention to your eyes, and specifically your lashes. Nude tones accentuate your love skin, while the lashes shine in the spotlight. Minimal yet intriguing!
1.) Apply a high quality foundation all over the face. Once again I used MAKEUP For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation. ( About $42.00 )
2.) Apply a contour shade to the hollows of your cheeks to give you a defined, and polished look, and to bring some more color into the face. I used NARS Contour Blush in Olympia, Rose ( About $30.00 )
3.) Apply a nude lipstick with some shine in it to the lips. I used Sephora Collection Rouge Shine in No. 2 Golden Girl ( About $12.50 ).
4.) Highlight above the apples of your cheeks and just below the bottom eyelid to define your cheek bones and bring more of the attention to the eyes. This just needs to be subtle yet noticable. I love, and used Benefit's Watt's Up Luminizer in Champagne ( About $30.00 )
5.) Now for the fun part! The eyes! First, line the bottom lid's waterline with a WHITE, yes WHITE liner. I like to use a chubby crayon for this so it doesn't get everywhere. I used Too Faced Bulletproof 24 HR Eyeliner in White Lie Matte ( About $22.00 ). This is going to make your eyes stand out.
6.) Apply false lashes to the top and bottom of your eyes. Take your time if you need to, applying lashes is an art and they never look good when rushed! Once they feel great, apply mascara over them to really make them stand out. I used Makeup For Ever Lash Strips in Floriane, ( About $16.00 ) which were medium lengths with thicker ends. I then applied Benefit They're Real Mascara ( About $23.00) over top in Black!
Overcast & Cool: Fall means cooler weather, and drearier skies, and although the weather may not always be our favorite, this look that mimics grey skies is absolutely a winner. This look takes the smokey eye and mutes it back by not using black, and instead uses neutral tones with accenting jewel tones to create a rebellious yet sultry palette. Once again, the eye trends are mimicking the nail trends for fall!
1.) After you've applied a foundation of your choice ( quality isn't as important here since the focus isn't the skin, but I would still recommend Makeup For Ever's foundation ), Apply a highlight to the upper cheek area and just under the bottom lids to give your face definition. I used Benefit's High Beam ( About $26.00 ). Make sure to blend it well.
2.) Apply a contour shade to the hollows of your cheeks to give you a defined, and polished look, and to bring some more color into the face. Once again, just like the last look, I utilized NARS Contour Blush in Olympia, Rose ( About $30.00 ) This contour is great because it's not shimmery, and we want the eyes to be the point of attraction on this palette. Muting the contour gives our eyes more pop!
3.) Apply a semi glossy/satin peachy/nude lipstick. I used Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Lovelight ( About $22.00 ) The peach is the key to this, because it really offsets the grey and grayish purple eyeshadow!
4.) Groom your brows. This look really is perfect for anyone with thick brows, and looks fantastic with almost unruly, thick brows. Line them with a brow liner to define and shape them. used Anastasia Beverly Hill's Brow Wiz ( About $21.00 )
5.) Now for the eyes! Apply your base shadow in grey, I used Makeup Forever Artist Shadow in Matte Slate. You want this grey color to be neutral not blueish or purply, just neutral grey. No glitter either, you want to use a matte color or you might look a little overdone. Apply this to the top lid and smudge outwards, blending as you go. Also apply this on the bottom lid and smudge. Next apply a semi sparkling deep grayish purple tone. You don't want BRIGHT purple, you wanted a muted purple. I used Makeup Forever Artist Shadow in Blueberry Diamond. Apply this in the corners of top lid and blend out, and on the entire bottom lid and blend with the grey. Last with the shadow, you'll apply an off white shade to the inner corners of your eyes. I used Makeup Forever Artist Shadow in Snow Gray. Apply to the inner corners of the eyes and blend slightly inward. All of these shadows run about $21.00
6.) Last apply a thick coat of Mascara to the lashes. I used Benefit's They're Real in Black once again, love that stuff! It runs about $23.00.
Pretty as a Petal: Let your natural radiance shine as you subtly enhance your skin in this palette and show off an inviting shade of pink lipstick!
I used something other than NARS this time because this look requires just a hint of shimmer in the contour. This gives it an ethereal almost sort of eleven effect you could say. I used Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Rose Gold ( About $38.00 )
3.) Highlight above the apples of your cheeks, below the bottom eyelid, on the eyelid top and bottom, in the arch of your brow, and just below your contour on the bottom of your cheekbone. This look is heavy on highlight, which is what gives it that defined look. Blend your highlights well. Again, I used Benefit's Watt's Up Luminizer in Champagne ( About $30.00 )
4.) Apply a light vanilla, shimmery nude shadow to the top eyelid and blend outwards. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Vanilla Golden Pearl Shimmer. Then use a peachy nude shadow in the crease of the eye, and on the bottom lid. Blend outwards and blend well. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Freelove which is a golden peachy shimmer. These shadows cost about $18.00.
5) Apply a light coat of mascara, not too heavy to the TOP lashes only. I used Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara in Black which is more subtle than their "They're Real" Mascara. It costs about $23.00
Heavy Metallic Girl: Fusing nudes and metallics gives an interesting yet gorgeous palette that is sure to be far from mundane! This is also a fairly simple and quickly palette that is easy to apply and a great game changer if you're sick of your current makeup routine.
Again, I used NARS Contour Blush in Olympia, Rose ( About $30.00 )
3.) Apply a glossy, off pink shade to the lips. I love Buxom's Full on Lip Polish in Jessica ( About $20.00 ) . Plumps the lips and gives a hint of shimmery pink.
4.) Apply a base shadow to the upper, and lower lids and even to the brow, blend well. You want something golden in hue but not too gold or you could easily resemble a clown. You want something mute. I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Blunt ( about $18.00 ), which is a light golden bronze shimmer. Then apply a more vivid tone in the crease of the eye, and along the bottom lid's water line. Also focus on the inner crease of the eye but leave the upper lid in the middle free from this vivid golden shade. I used Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia which is a metallic gold ( about $29.00 ). Last but not least sparingly apply some golden glitter in the inner crease of the eye. I used Makeup Forever Sand 11 ( about $15.00 ). No need for mascara on this one, or use sparingly!
