Blue eyeshadow - this treacherous shade can go oh so very wrong, or right, depending on how you apply it. In this palette and how to, I'll show you one way to master this tone with a sultry, smokey appeal!

YOU WILL NEED:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Evidence/deep navy (about $20.00)
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Blackout/Black ( about $20.00 )
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Polyester Bride/White Shimmer ( about $20.00 )
Kat Von D Liquid Liner in Trooper Black ( about $20.00)
Benefit They're Real Mascara in Black ( about $24.00 )
NARs Blush in Amour/Peachy pink ( about $30.00 )
Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Mother/Dusty Mauve, Pink (about $20.00)

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

Step 1: After applying your favorite primer and foundation, apply a deep blue shadow to the middle of the eyelids and blend softly outwards. You want a shade with not overwhelmingly too much glitter and a true, deep blue pigment. I chose Urban Decay's deep navy shade, "Evidence." The key to making blue shadow work for you, is picking the right shade. You definitely don't want a "clown" blue all over your lids. Compare shades against your skin tone to choose one that compliments your skin, instead of creating a clash of tones. This navy shade should compliment most skin shades!

Step 2: Apply this same dark navy along the outer edges of the bottom lashline, blend.

Step 3: In the crease of the upper eyelids, apply a deep matte, black shade and blend in outwards, circle motions. Adding black to your navy hue will really create a beautiful gradation of hues - yet still add drama. I chose Urban Decay's Blackout shadow for this tone. Add a hint of this along the bottom lashline OUTER corners as well, blend.

Step 4: On the inner corner of the eyes, apply a shimmering silver for added dimension. Urban Decay's Polyester Bride eyeshadow is the perfect combo of silver and shimmering white! Blend inwards subtly, and about midway across the bottom lower lashline.

Step 5: Line the upper eyes, right along the lashline with a clean black liner. I used Kat Von D's Trooper liquid liner, which is Black. I always love the clarity and ease of application with this liner.

Step 6: Coat your lashes with a voluminous black mascara. Benefit's "They're Real" is perfect for this.

Step 7: Apply a soft, peachy pink blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend in circular, soft motions. This look as all about the eyeshadow, so heavy duty blushes and highlighters aren't really necessary. I chose NARs Blush in Amour.

Step 8: To keep the focus on your eyes, you can add a colored lip but don't go too crazy. I chose Kat Von D's liquid Lipstick in "Mother" which is a mauve pink. It gives a pop, but not an overwhelming one to the overall palette.

Set or Mist the look with your favorite setting spray! You're done! Enjoy!
