Put those stolen moments to good use. Each of these tips takes just 10 minutes. If that's all the time you have to spare, start with the first tip. If you have more time, work your way further on. The whole six take one hour, and when you've finished you'll look pretty and feel great.
1. If you've only 10 minutes to spare, start here
First, cleanse your face thoroughly. Then apply a face mask to get your skin to the pink of perfection. While the mask is on, idle away the time with a relaxing exercise. Try lying on the floor with your feet up against the wall and your bottom tucked into the corner. Stay in that position for eight minutes, taking good, deep breaths, then stand up and rinse off your face mask. Now, if you've still got time, move on to the next step.
2. Pamper yourself
Put your electric rollers on to heat up. Then, go into the bathroom to run a soothing warm bath - never have it too hot. While the water is running, add a generous capful of bath oil, or a good dash of your favorite bath salts. Roll up your hair, but don't cover it with a shower cap or scarf. The humidity of the bathroom gives the set a lift. Now, slide into the bath tub and enjoy 10 minutes of blissful relaxation. Blot your body dry, then brush out your hair.
3. Important extras
When a minimum of time will get maximum results. Always start off with good groundwork - moisturize. As soon as moisturizer is absorbed, start on these added touches. Try something to temporarily smooth over tiny eye lines. Apply it sparingly, and you'll soon notice the difference. Then take tweezers and trim away stray hairs beneath the brows. For a wide-eyed look, curl your lashes before you put on your mascara and shadow. Add a squeeze or two of eye drops, and your eyes will sparkle.
4. Quick tricks in makeup
An indispensable aid is an under-eye concealer - it hides dark circles and blemishes, too. Follow it up with foundation and blend well. To make eyes seem whiter and brighter, take a blue eye pencil and run it along the rim of the lower lashes. To add a healthy glow to your skin, dot a few drops of liquid all-over face tint and pat in (don't rub or you'll rub color off). A good finishing touch is a light dusting of translucent powder.
5. Up and away
On gala occasions try wearing your hair up for a dramatic effect. It doesn't really matter what length your hair is. If it's short, take two pretty combs and sweep the sides up above the temples. If it's medium length, roll it back, securing it firmly with hairpins. For hair that's shoulder length or longer, opt for a classic chignon, and perhaps decorate it with a jewel or two. Use a mist of hairspray to keep it in order, but go lightly.
6. For flash and dash, have a fling with these final touches
Apply highlighter across the ridge of cheekbones and under brows. For a madly glamorous, low-cut dress, use powder blush to touch up your cleavage. Think of earrings as part of your total makeup. Add the glint of rhinestone studs (or diamonds, if you're lucky). For lip color, choose one of the new brights with a touch of iridescence. Finally, perfume... or a veil of cologne in your hair to waft a trail around you.
Now you're a ready for compliments.
