Rimmel Wake Me Up Review || My Foundation, Highlighter and Bronzer Routine!

Hi guys!

Today I'm bringing you a beauty/ makeup topic! I'd like to review one of my favorite foundations at the moment: Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation!

I also filmed a review video, where I'm showing you how I apply this foundation on my face and I'm also talking about other products I currently use in my makeup routine, such as my favorite concealer, highlighter, bronzer and all that good stuff! :-)

Make sure to check it out, below!

I love using Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation because it's a great drugstore alternative to more high end expensive foundations, such as Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (I think they're pretty similar in texture and coverage). Another similar foundation is Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Reveal Foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation is a very light foundation, it illuminates the skin and gives it this really beautiful and healthy appearance. It doesn't have super high coverage, but I find it's just enough to even out my skin and cover up any redness or smaller imperfections. If I need to conceal spots, I then use some heavy duty concealer, but I like my foundation to look quite natural and I like it to feel very "light" on my face.

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation has got a pretty good lasting power as well. I do mattify my face with a compact powder, just to set my foundation and then I don't need to touch up my foundation, even after a whole day at work.

I use this foundation in the shade #103 True Ivory and I feel it blends well into my skin tone. It does have some yellow undertones but I think it blends well and I'm happy with the overall result that it gives my skin. It makes me look more awake and gives my face a youthful appearance.

I like to use this foundation mostly in the Spring time because I suffer from pollen allergies around that time and that usually takes its toll on my skin, making it look more tired even after a good night's sleep! This foundation helps in bringing back that fresh, less tired look on my skin, and I'm really grateful for that. It contains SPF 15 which is a good protection for those first sunnier days here in Italy!

If you're going for a very radiant, natural looking effect, this is the right foundation for you! It's very hydrating and has a vitamin complex that takes care of your skin. I'd say this foundation is suitable for all skin types, but mostly for dry, or combination skin. If your skin is very oily or very breakout prone, you might need a fuller coverage foundation, that is designed to help you out with blemishes (anti-bacterial properties).

You'll get a 30ml (1 fl oz) of the product and it's available in most drugstores and beauty supply stores, even supermarkets (this is where I actually bought mine!)

I hope this review was helpful!

Have you ever tried this foundation, or any other Rimmel foundation? Leave me your comments!

xo from Italy,

Sonia Verardo
