Marrakesh New Professional Color Care Line Review!

I love, love, love Marrakesh by Earthly Body hair care products and recently they launched an entirely new line of shampoos and conditioners reminiscent of their successful oils which I'll also review soon! Marrakesh is a naturally derived product line that started out creating high quality serums, elixirs and body oils for both hair and skin. They always smell AMAZING and even have a product that smells like a Dreamscicle ice cream bar! They're still a little bit of an unknown gem, but soon I'm confident that will change. Recently, they started producing hair care products other than oils, and they did not disappoint. About two months ago they created an "original" shampoo and conditioner that smelled like their "original" oil. Excitingly also, this month they just released this color care line of hair care products, expanding their ability to bring this awesome brand not only to natural hair but colored hair! I was lucky enough to get my paws on a Color Care Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave in Spray from Marrakesh's brand new color care line, and here is my review!

Marrakesh Color Care Shampoo
Brand's Official Product Description: "Quality shampoo specifically designed for color-treated hair. Renews, moisturizes, and strengthens colored and porous hair. This shampoo was created specifically for colored hair. Formulated with Sunflower Seed Extract, Argan Oil, and Hemp seed Oil this product will leave hair shinier and healthier. Sulfate-Free."

My Personal Product Description: A color protecting, mild shampoo that strengthens the hair as it whisks away impurities, without sacrificing the integrity of your hair color. Soft, floral yet slightly musky scent. Creamy consistency, with a mild suds. Sufficient for damaged hair. Repairs as it protects color!

Packaging: This shampoo comes in a normal, plastic run of the mill bottle with a push cap plastic lid. It's sturdy, and not a weird shape so it stands up easily in the shower. Easy to open, easy to use, no mess. Nothing crazy about the bottle but it functions exactly as it needs to, and is made from recycled materials. 5/5
 

Price: This product is professional grade color care and does come with a higher price tag due to this at about $20.00 a 12oz  bottle. However, the product lasts and is well worth the extra buck to maintain your color and strengthen your hair without weighing it down. 4/5



Accessibility: Marrakesh by Earthly Body is a professional based line, so it is only sold to professional stylists, or sometimes online. You'll either have to get your stylist to get it for you, purchase it from a salon or order it as a professional licensed stylist. I have seen some online, but of course with professional brands you never know what you're getting online unless it comes from a reputable source. I would just purchase it from a salon or stylist. I have my license so I purchased mine at a Cosmprof Store. 5/5

Smell: The smell of this product is lovely, and does not have any chemically underlying scents like some color care shampoos. In fact this product is vegetable derived, and smells wonderfully floral yet natural with a hint of sweetness. You can smell the Argan Oil! 5/5

Product Texture: Instead of oily, this Argan Oil and Hemp Seed Oil infused shampoo is very creamy yet easily workable when massaging into the hair. You can easily achieve a nice mild, cleansing lather with this. Not harsh, or thick, or runny. Really moisturizes the hair and scalp! 5/5

Product Performance: This product really provided my hair with fantastic color protection, and moisture. The suds was not overwhelming, yet present. My color didn't fade, or look dull but looked shiny and vibrant after using this. My hair and scalp felt clean and refreshed yet moisturized! Oh, and smelling great! 5/5

Overall Review: If you're looking for a great shampoo that moisturizes while it protects your color this shampoo is fantastic. No dryness, no chemical smell, no burning or itching, and no color fade! This product is safe and gentle enough for everyday usage, and simultaneously strong enough to leave your hair feeling clean. It removes product build up, but not your color and leaves impeccable shine and vibrancy to your color!

My Personal Product Description: A color protecting, moisturizing, luxurious conditioner that adds softness and shine to the hair while protecting your shade! Repairs while it protects, and detangles hair easily. Leaves hair smooth, frizz free and healthy.

Packaging: This conditioner is also in a gold bottle, pretty much a run of the mill design. Sturdy and functional. Stands easily in the shower and it is easy to open and use. The bottle on the conditioner is also made from recycled materials which is pretty cool. 5/5

Price: This product is professional grade color care conditioner and of course like the shampoo does come with a higher price tag due to this at about $23.99 a 12oz  bottle. This conditioner is very moisturizing though, and truly cares for your hair color without weighing it down or leaving buildup. Worth the price. 4/5

Smell: The smell of this conditioner is similar to the shampoo but much more rich. The conditioner reminded me of an amber/flower scent, I think the Argan Oil is heavier in the conditioner so that must be why. Love it though, very romantic yet natural. Not overwhelming. 5/5

Product Texture: This conditioner is rich in texture also, and is a fairly thick consistency. It still dispenses easily out of the bottle, but it is far from runny or watered down. Not oily in texture at all. This could easily be used as a 15-minute mask under a dryer because it's so rich, yet it doesn't weigh down the hair! 5/5

Product Performance: This conditioner didn't strip my color, moisturized my hair and scalp, left my hair soft, and shiny, and de-tangled it. The scent was not overpowering, and my hair felt so touchable and yet retained all of its color vibrancy after usage. 5/5

Overall Review: If you're looking for a conditioner that won't weigh the hair down, protects color, repairs hair, is naturally derived and has a light natural scent this conditioner by Marrakesh is a luxurious choice. My hair felt shiny, soft, touchable, moisturized, healthy, stronger and looked great color vibrancy wise after using this product. My hair wasn't weighed down or greasy either.

My Personal Product Description: A detangling, color protectant and leave in styling aid that repairs, adds shine, improves hair health and keeps your color fade free! Great for hair that tangles easily and as an additional color care aid.

Packaging: This leave in comes in a gold plastic container. The container is not a weird shape and easily stands in the shower. The package is leak safe and made with quality. The nozzle has its own plastic cap, and is a push spray dispenser. The nozzle doesn't clog, and sprays out the product evenly and firmly. Easy to use, easy to dispense, no issues here. Bottle is made from recycled plastic. 5/5

Price: This product is professional grade color care LEAVE IN treatment and detangler. At $17.99 for 4fl oz about, the product isn't at a weird or overpriced price. Right around where most quality color care leave ins or styling aids would be. This also doubles up as a detangler, a shine aid, and a repair treatment so really you're getting multiple benefits in one product. 5/5



Accessibility: Marrakesh by Earthly Body is professionally based only. You'll have to purchase this from a salon, or a stylist, or as a licensed styist. I purchased mine from Cosmo Prof. Although you can't pick this up at Wal-mart, you know you're getting a licensed, quality product so it's worth the extra run around to get it. 5/5

Smell: The smell of this leave in product is very similar to the Color Care conditioner. Rich, slightly floral, natural, with hints of Argan oil. This leave in is an even lighter scent than the conditioner, and is very sheer in scent. Not overbearing at all but still pleasant. 5/5

Product Texture: This leave in is not greasy, heavy or too thick. The consistency is perfect for a blow out styling aid, or as a leave in overnight treatment. It's not thick like a mask, and not runny like a liquid but it is wet and smooths easily into wet or dry hair. On wet hair you could use a decent amount and then blow dry, on dry hair you could use a small amount just as a styling aid even for a textured look. Very versatile product that won't goop down the hair. 5/5

Product Performance: This leave in detangled my hair like it said it would, made it shiny, didn't strip my color, made my hair soft, smelling light and fresh, and didn't goop or weigh down my style. Versatile, workable, not noticeable in any negative way. My hair felt clean and soft even with this in. 5/5

Tips and Tricks with this product: Use this color locking spray in wet hair as your detangler AND as a blow out lotion for a smoother, shinier style that also protects your shade!

Overall Review: If you need a detangler that also addresses hair color and hair repair concerns this is perfect for you! Naturally derived and multi faceted, this product can address multiple hair care concerns from smoothness and tangles to color protection easily and without the stress of purchasing an entirely new entourage of products. Well worth a try! Nice scent, and wonderful product performance. 5/5
