Pretty Ethereal to Intense Smokey Eyes - Makeup Tutorial

Hello Dolls,

I've created two versions of this makeup look, so you can see how in the first pic, it's more feminine and soft and reminds me of an ethereal princess, type look. The second look is an intense and smokier version of the look!

Today's makeup how-to is pretty simple, using only three colors, purple, gold & black. There's a little bit of everything in this look: color, smokiness and glitter!

The tutorial is going to be for the first look since the second is pretty self explanatory, the colors are just packed on.

Here's the look:

PRODUCT LIST:

  • NYX Eyeshadow Base
  • Eyebrows -Red Pencil
  • Cascada Of Colors Black Pencil
  • BH Cosmetics 120 Color Palette (Black, red)
  • Urban Decay Glinda Palette (Tornado{purple}, Oz {gold}, Aura {brow-bone highlight})
  • Black Gel Eyeliner
  • Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Black Kohl Eyeliner
  • NYX Liquid Crystal Liner CRYSTAL GOLD (LCL101)
  • False Eyelashes
  • Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket Black Mascara

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

  1. Apply NYX eyeshadow base to entire lid.
  2. Apply a red pencil to eyebrows.
  3. Using a black pencil, create a feline cat eye on the outer edges of the eye. Tip: If you'd like a cleaner edge, try applying some scotch tape. Also trace the natural eye shape at the inner corners to add a little depth.
  4. Then using a small brush, blend out the black to a softer look.
  5. Now apply a shimmery golden shade to the entire lid. I used Oz from the Glinda Palette.
  6. Using a precision detailing brush, apply a red to the crease. I'm using BH Cosmetics 120 Palette.
  7. Then apply a tiny amount of black and smoke out the inner and outer corners where we applied the black earlier.
  8. Now apply a tiny amount of purple to the brow bone and fade into the red, creating a gradient effect. I'm using the Glinda Palette again.
  9. Apply your normal black liner to the upper and lower lashes and use black eyeshadow to smoke out the edges as desired.
  10. Apply false lashes and mascara.
  11. Finish with gold glitter liner. I applied a little bit to the center of the crease and to the outer edge of the eyes and a tiny bit to the brows.
