Daily Task or Passion - The Art of Applying Makeup

Whether or not makeup application is actually enjoyable for the individual really depends on why the person is applying makeup in the first place. There are several factors that take place so let’s take a look at them closely.

For the woman who occasionally applies makeup, she enjoys to get glam for special occasions. Her daily lifestyle may not permit her to do this on a regular basis. She cleans up and polishes her look to impress family and friends and she feels special when she’s "made up." This woman may like to apply makeup but her daily lifestyle just doesn’t allow it.

Then you have the woman who feels forced (might be a harsh term here) to apply makeup on a regular basis. She most likely doesn’t apply a cake face but the usual basics: foundation, mascara, eyeliner, blush and lipstick. She applies it to fit in and the task is daunting and quite tedious for her. This can be to school, work or to fit in with her friends or peers. Perhaps her workplace is that type of corporate environment that persuades the women to look polished (which usually means makeup). If she had her choice, she wouldn’t apply any makeup - like ever.

Finally you have the true, makeup lovers! These people live to apply makeup (raises hand). It truly excites them and they’re probably makeup junkies who jump to purchase the latest and greatest products. It’s similar to a kid in a toy store. Makeup for them, is a form of art and their blank face is their canvas. They actually enjoy sitting in the makeup chair for long hours (yes, sometimes hours!) to completely transform themselves with full on glam, cake face, dramatic falsies, sculpted to the gods - the whole nine yards! Because makeup application for them is a choice, they totally enjoy it!

For some, applying makeup is a task while for others it’s a form of creative expression. Depending on which reason you’re applying it for, changes the individual’s perception of what makeup application is. Perhaps they were conditioned to apply makeup (societal pressures or workplace demands) or it may be something they picked up on their own (hobby or passion) -whichever the case, this all changes the viewpoint and the individual’s entire experience. This theory could actually apply to anything - not just makeup.

At the end of the day, the individual should have the liberty of whether or not they choose to wear makeup. We hope this gave you a better understanding of why certain people hate makeup while others are obsessed. Of course this post doesn’t include the people who don’t wear makeup and the viewpoints addressed here don’t necessarily apply to all either.
