Burnt Orange Simple Glamour Full Look Tutorial

Love simplistic yet glamorous looks? Want something wearable yet fun this summer? Check out my "Burnt Orange" tutorial! This look is perfect for any summer occasion, yet simple enough to be appropriate for a wedding, work or family outing!  There are so many amazing looks out there this summer, yet some just aren't realistic when it comes to actually wearing them out. You can feel fun, modern, chic and glamorous yet not ridiculous with this look! It doesn't require tedious techniques or applications and is fairly easy to apply. Plus, you can pair it with an array of outfits.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Sorme Treatment Cosmetics Skin Perfecting BB Cream-  about $20.00
  • E.L.F Natural Lash Kit - about $2.50
  • Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in 7322 Rose - about $12.00
  • Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Shade Sex Machine/pink mauve - $26.00
  • Sephora Collection Lip Liner to Go in shade 11 Rose - about $6.00
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Liner in Trooper Black - about $19.00
  • Makeup Forever Eyeshadow: Shade S732 Orange (Satin) - about $21.00
  • Makeup Forever Eyeshadow: Shade S404 Straw Yellow (Satin) - about $21.00
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow: Shade  Blackout - blackest black matte - about $18.00

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

  1. Apply your BB Cream of choice in your skin color. I chose Sorme's Skin perfecting BB Cream which I absolutely adore. This product is smoothing, blurs imperfections and has good for your skin ingredients along with a light SPF. Apply with a blending sponge or brush evenly.
  2. Apply blush to the cheek bones, and lightly contour the nose if you wish with the same shade. Don't overdo it. I chose a warm, rose, yet slightly shimmering tone such as Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose. This brand is made by Physicians and Dermatologists, and includes interesting attributes such as ingredients in the actual blush that claim to make you feel happier that day. They all smell slightly like flowers, and this blush in particular is beautiful when applied. Slightly shimmery, yet it compliments almost any skin tone and is made without harmful ingredients. This will give some warm to the face yet not in an overpowering way.
  3. To the eyelids, apply a burnt orange shade like Makeup Forever Shade732 Orange Satin. This shade is very orange, but we'll dilute it with a pale yellow and blend it in later to make this look more wearable. This shade is also meant to be a blush originally, however, since most blush pigments are made with the same ingredients as eyeshadow pigments, it also works as a shadow. Apply this shade to the crease of both eyes. Blend.
  4. Apply a pale yellow shade over your orange lightly and blend. This will push back your orange enough to make it wearable and less striking yet visible enough to be modern and fun. Blend with your pale yellow halfway up to the brow bone. Blend well, a round blending brush specifically made for this may help you. I used Makeup Forever Eyeshadow shade S404 in Straw Yellow.
  5. Apply a matte black shadow to the crease of both eyes, slightly below your orange/yellow blending. You want to choose a shade that is not sparkly for this so that the look doesn't get overly complicated and appear overdone. Blend well into the outer corners of the eyes, and also lightly on the bottom water line. When you get closer to the inner eye of the bottom water line, lighten your application of this black tone until it appears grey. Blend well. Reapply your orange/yellow to the crease of you accidentally overdid the black. I used Urban Decay's Blackout eyeshadow shade.
  6. Apply a softer version of cateye liner with a stark, black, liquid liner in a sweeping line. I left the outer edge of my cateye soft, since the orange takes the center stage in this look. I used Kat Von D's Tattoo liner in Trooper Black. This liner gives you control in application and almost can be used like a pen with a delicate brush. Great application, gives crisp, eye catching lines with a pigment that won't irritate the eyes.
  7. Fill in your lips with a baby pink shade with a hint of violet like Nar's Velvet Lip Pencil in Sex machine. This is soft, yet unique. It's not a pure baby pink hue, so the hint of light violet gives it a bit of an interesting pop without the full on intensity of a violet lipstick.
  8. Carefully line the lips with a pink liner with a violet hue undertone. Sephora's lip liner to go in Rose is a great shade. This shade will give the lips a crisp look, a pop of added color on top of your baby pink violet shade of lipstick, but won't appear too crazy. Blend inwards with your lipstick for a summery, yet modern chic look.
  9. Apply your E.L.F natural lashes or any natural lash to the eyelashes. This will give your eyes some added glam appeal, but without heavy liner or thick gaudy lashes. Natural, yet stunning! You're done!
