REVIEW: Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream

Wrinkles. Some of us experience what I like to call, "life's battle scars" early on in life and some of us not at all, but at the lovely age of 27, I've seen some changes in my skin. Although minor, I wanted to try out a new edition to my skincare regime and was curious as to how it would improve some of the fine lines I'm seeing, in particular those dreaded "11's" some of us get between our brows.

There are literally thousands of anti-wrinkle products on the market, so it can be tough to pick one at all. I trust the Shiseido professional brand because I've tried some of their other products before and liked them, but never a night cream. I went for the big daddy" product, or the extra strength product when I chose the Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream, of course, to see if I got extreme results. I also chose the smaller, sample size just in case I hated it which is never a bad idea if you're trying a new product, and it comes in a smaller size.

So, without further babbling, today I'll be reviewing Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream after using it for about two months.

Official Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream Brand Product Description:

"This moisturizer creates a visible reduction in the appearance of existing wrinkles, intensively addressing lines before they become more serious. Its advanced formula works while you sleep to promote a silky-smooth skin texture by morning. Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 is a complete line of skin care products that targets every step of wrinkle formation. Each product contains a breakthrough ingredient, mukurossi extract, which directly inhibits the activity of a wrinkle-triggering enzyme. Skin is made resistant to future signs of aging while existing wrinkles are visibly improved."

My Personal Description: This is a super silky, melt into the skin, undetectable anti-aging night cream that can fit easily into your skincare regime. This product is meant to not only reduce the wrinkles you already may have, but prevent future signs of aging.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Hydrogenated C6-14 Olefin Polymers, Petrolatum, Cetyl Octanoate, Dipropylene Glycol, Squalane, Microcrystalline Wax, Maltitol, Dimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, PEG-150, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Sodium PCA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Potassium Ascorbyl Tocopheryl Phosphate, Arginine HCI, Ginseng Extract, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hydroxyproline, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Polyvinyl Alcohol, PEG-12 Dioleate, Butylene Glycol, Trisodium EDTA, Alcohol, Sodium Hexametaphosphate, Tocopherol, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Fragrance, Iron Oxides.

Packaging: This night cream comes in a very sturdy, easy to open plastic jar with a screw off metallic plastic lid. It does not leak, tip over, or jam when you try to open it. The packaging is very well made, easy to open and easy to close. You do get a little less in the jar than you may initially have imagined due to the jar design only filling about half of the actual jar size, which can be a bit misleading unless you read the actual ounces in each jar before purchasing. 4/5

Price: I purchased mine at wholesale, professional, .34oz sample prize at about $10.00, but this product is widely only available at the 1.7oz size which is $58.00. This is fairly normal for a wrinkle cream of this quality, although it is hard to drop $50 on a cream. However, you are getting quality ingredients, so I guess that mostly justifies the price.  4/5

Accessibility: You can purchase Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream at most beauty supply stores, and online. From Sephora.com, to www.shiseido.com this cream is easy to find, and purchase. 5/5

Smell: This cream is not overly scented at all, which is important for many customers. If anything, I believe it smells slightly floral, maybe a tad like roses but the scent is subtle and not strong. 5/5

Texture and Feel: Possibly one of the best things about this cream is that it is not greasy at all. Most night creams are greasy, or irritating, but this cream is silky, smooth, melts into the skin, leaves the skin feeling soft and is almost undetectable in my opinion. It easily absorbs into the skin, does not require a lot of rubbing into the skin and is very, very soft.  5/5

Pigment: This cream has a soft, baby pink shade to it. Nothing strange here. 5/5

Wearability: I was able to apply this cream at night time after cleansing with absolutely no issues. It didn't burn, tingle, itch or make me feel greasy or gross. It simply melted easily into the skin and is VERY moisturizing, and luxurious. You could also cocktail this cream with a night serum if you wanted to, because it feels so light. Very wearable. 5/5

Special Features: This cream is formulated with mukurossi extract, which has been shown in studies to visibly reduce wrinkles. Shiseido is also one of the oldest beauty brands in the world, and was founded in 1872! So you would hope they had their products down pat!

Travel Size: YES, it does come in a .34oz size which is the one I purchased, but it can be difficult to find.

Can you use this everyday?: YES, this is formulated for all skin types and should not irritate the skin.

Tip and Tricks: Before applying this cream, cleanse your skin, and exfoliate lightly to ensure maximum penetration of the product.

Overall Review and Effectiveness: I did see results with this cream, however, I felt like they were temporary. Possibly if you use the entire line from Shiseido's night regime the results would be more "permanent?" I saw immediate results in the morning, but felt like they dissipated over the day. I'm not sure if it's due to me being a very animated person in my facial expressions, because I am, but the product did seem to lose its effectiveness until I used it that night again. In the morning, my skin looked amazing, soft, and wrinkles were very reduced however by night I felt like they were back. Nowhere near as visible though, so I can say that I do believe this cream makes a difference. Miracle worker for me? Maybe not, but I would buy it again for sure and possibly in conjunction with the other products in the regime. I loved how the texture of this product was undetectable and I loved how it made my skin feel! Not irritable at all and not greasy. Quick results, maybe not permanent, but I did see a visible difference. I give it a 4/5!
