We all have those things that we do to help us feel more confident. It could be a particular shade of lipstick that you love or a favorite outfit that makes you feel like you can conquer the world. No matter what it is, it helps you take on any challenges life can throw at you with ease. Of course, as wonderful as that is, it does raise the question of what you do when you don't have access to that outfit or that shade of lipstick? What do you do when your confidence crutch is nowhere to be found? Do you just crumple and fall back into old habits of insecurity and shyness? Of course not! Here are a few things that you can do to start feeling confident no matter what!
Take Care Of Yourself
The reality is that there's only so much confidence that you're going to be able to gain by making changes on the outside. Sure, putting on a particular outfit or shade of makeup can be great, but it's a temporary solution at best. If you want something more permanent, the best way to start is to take better care of yourself. Things like having the best possible skincare routine and a diet that doesn't leave you feeling bloated and tired are going to help you feel your best no matter what you're doing. That way you're not going to end up feeling like you have to rely on external things in order to feel confident.
Stand Up Straight
You probably spent your childhood being told to stand up straight by adults and you probably hated it. Well, it turns out that they were onto something. Not only is good posture just going to be a positive thing in terms of your physical health, in the long run, it can also have a major impact on how you feel. Spending all of your time hunched over as though you're trying to hide is just going to make you feel small and insecure. Standing up straight helps to radiate confidence in a way that makes a huge difference on how you feel.
Start Taking Selfies
Yep, you heard right. No matter what you might think of selfies, the truth is that they can do wonders for your self-esteem. They allow you to pick the best angles, lighting, and filters so that you can get to know your face on your own terms. After a while, you'll be able to more easily identify the things that you like about how you look and you're not going to spend as much time focusing on the things that you don't like. So snap away and forget what anyone else thinks about selfies!
Now, these things aren't exactly going to suddenly give you confidence in an instant without you having to do anything. The truth is that these things are making changes to the way that you think about yourself and that's something that takes time. However, once these things start to become second nature, you'll find that the confidence that you have comes from within you and that's something that you can carry with you no matter where you are or what you're doing.
Lots of love,
