SkinnyGirl Body Shimmer Body Solutions Product Review:  Hello again everyone!

I was passing through my local Ollies of all places today and saw this on the shelf. I've never tried the SkinnyGirl brand of products or drinks, but it appeared to be promising, so I purchased this and a firming lotion and body wash that I will also review later.

Anyway, this body shimmer is part of a body solutions package that's supposed to firm and tone your skin apparently. This spritz, is the last step in that package, and meant to deeply moisturize while giving your skin a nice glow.

I'm pretty pale, you could say translucent, so finding a subtle product that will give me a natural glow is difficult. I decided to give this one a shot.

Product Color: Pale Gold with little flecks of glitter

Affordability and Size: Now I purchased mine in a package with two other items, so mine is smaller, at 1.9 oz where the regular sized bottle when purchased alone is 4.6. I purchased the smaller one in it's gift set at about $6. Alone, it's the same price, about $6, which I don't think is terrible. Unless you're literally drenching yourself in this stuff and a little goes a long way, it should last you.  

Packaging: The bottle on this is pretty run of the mill. It's a push pump shimmer, not a spray, and the packaging is basic - just a push pump. I noticed that the lid really doesn't click tightly however onto the push pump, which wasn't a big deal but they couldn't made it a little  more snug in case you drop it. I sort of wished they would have listed the full ingredients as well. 

Color: This is what I thought I was going to fall in love with. Again, I'm very very pale, and some products that state to give the normal person a golden hue end up turning me orange. This product looked sheer enough to give me what I needed, however, it didn't do much of well..anything at all once I rubbed it in, which is shocking since my skin tone is basically as pale as you can get. I posted some photos of when I first dispensed it, and after I rubbed it in.  I really didn't even notice any shimmer either, which was a let down. I saw basically zero change in the appearance of the color of my skin. No gold undertones, no shimmer, my skin did feel better and look smoother/silkier, but there was no color change at all.

Consistency: This product is pretty runny, which is fine, it's liquid-y nature makes rubbing it in extremely easy, and it's not meant to be a body butter anyway, although it was sort of annoying when I pumped it out, I immediately had to chase it to rub it in since it wanted to drip off of me. Putting it in my hand and then rubbing it in worked better than putting it on my legs or arms and trying to chase it.

Smell: The smell of this product is probably the best part about it. It leaves your skin smelling very springy and fruity, and is subtle yet refreshing, a little goes a long way. It didn't irritate my skin or my eyes. Almost citrus-y and berry-like scent.

Effectiveness: When I applied this product, like I said, it's pretty liquid-y, and it ran all over the place. After I rubbed it in, my skin DID feel significantly smoother, smelled great, did not look more "glow-y" but did look silkier and healthier. My skin definitely felt more moisturized, but I wouldn't use this as a moisturizer. I was honestly disappointed, because I was looking for something that would give me a sun-kissed glow yet be a light moisturizer. This ended up giving me no glow, but being a heavy moisture source, though still not my favorite moisturizer.

My Final Review: This shimmer product smells great, moisturizes, and leaves your skin feeling smoother and looking a bit healthier, however it does not give any sort of glow in my opinion or shimmer, and really just smells awesome. If I was going for something strictly for a shimmer aspect or natural glow, this wouldn't be it, thought I did really enjoy the fruit scent and the way my skin felt afterwards.
