I have always been a nail biter. When it comes to bad habits, that was mine, and no matter how I hard I tried, I could never seem to grow my nails out. It wasn't really a big deal because I've always been in the dirt building something, or knee deep in art supplies, honestly long nails just got in my way - but when I got into the beauty industry my fingers were always in clients' faces; I didn't want them to see my ripped up nubby fingers and think "Hey, if this person can't even take care of herself, how does she know what to do with me?" I doubt most people would think that, but it was always on my mind when I knew a client had noticed my fingers.

The "no bite" polish that tastes bad and is meant to deter you from biting? It didn't stop me. If I got acrylics, the acrylic would annoy me after a while, it was too thick and heavy. My industrial work style in the SFX cosmetic/film industry which sometimes involves chemicals meant to melt acrylic didn't really mesh with such a delicate nail application. I would pick at it when it started to deteriorate, and it was expensive to keep up with. If I applied nail polish, it would chip and flake, and I would eventually pick it all off too. Finally, I've found something that works. I went from bitten, and unsightly nubs for fingernails, to strong, beautiful nails in about a month!

I'm going to show you just how bad my nails were before, because explaining how hard it was for me to grow them out just isn't enough.

Crazy right? Ugh, the before is so bad! Regular polish just did nothing for me. I've still got some nail growing to do, and they could be filed for a better shape but this is seriously a HUGE improvement. So, today I'll be reviewing what has truly been a miracle product for me, Perfect Formula, Gel Coat.

My Personal Product Description: This is a miracle product for anyone looking for an easy way to grow out their nails, keep their nails strong, or anyone just looking for a pretty, durable, fast drying non-chip gel polish. Helps keep nails strong, and from breaking.

Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Keratin: Provides a nourishing protein treatment. Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Phthalic Anhydride/Trimellitic Anhydride/Glycols Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Camphor, Disodium Distyrylbiphenyl Disulfonate, Etocrylene, Formaldehyde, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Calcium Pantothenate, D&C Red no.6 (CI15850), D&C Violet No. 2 (CI 60725).

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

Packaging: This product comes in a small cardboard box. When opened it comes in these little glass containers like most other polishes. What I really loved about this packaging design is that the lid is pretty heavy duty, so when you screw it on, you know it's not going to leak. You can also easily tell if the lid isnt on correctly, as shown in the pink gel coat versus the mystic container above. No leaks! 5/5

Price: At about $30.00 a polish, this polish is on the more expensive side, however it delivers. It replaces every other nail treatmenet I've ever bought. No normal polish, store bought or not, or store bought gel ever has fixed my nails like this. Neither had acrylic. This product is truly a miracle product for someone who wants to get their natural nails back and it lives up to every single claim it provides. Well worth the price. The product inside the bottle does go a long way, but I found myself obsessed with it so I did end up applying it every other day! I used a bottle up in a month because I was so happy with the results! But the actual product does go a long way if you don't get alittle crazy like I did. Well worth every penny.



Accessibility:  Perfect Gel Coat is available at most fine retailers like Sephora, and QVC and Amazon. You won't find this in a drugstore but the stores it is found at are easily accessible in person or online.

Tones/Shades:  I purchased Mystic, and The Pink Gel Coat which I loved. The entire shade collection comes in an array of mostly very warm tones with Classic Red, Taupe, Mystic ( Opal ), Peaches and Creme, Powder Pink, Mid Coat, Top Coat, Pink Gel Coat and a Daily Moisture coat. I would suggest using the Top Coat or the Pink Gel coat with any of the basic colors like Classic Red, Taupe, Mystic, Powder Pink or Peaches and Creme. The Pink Gel Coat looks amazing alone or on top of a tone. They could've made more fun tones, but the tones they do have all look fantastic on. 4/5

Smell:  These don't have a pungent smell which is fantastic because who wants to smell like nail polish. Everytime I paint my nails with normal polish my cat freaks out because he can smell the nasty chemicals. These gel polishes don't smell like flowers mind you but the smell is almost undetecable. No heavy fumes here or extra chemical smells. 5/5

Drying Time:  THIS IS HUGE for me. I'm way too busy to even have five minutes to dry my nails. These polishes dry FAST. And by fast I mean a few minutes, probably around 3 minutes maybe even less. I loathe waiting for polish to dry only for me to bump it slightly and ruin the entire application, and have to go back and fix it. I've actually never seen a polish that drys so fast and even. Apply it, wait a few moments and go! The colored tones take maybe a minute longer to dry. 5/5

Texture:  These polishes are thick, go on smooth, go on even, and are very easy to apply. Apply a thin coat for a protective layer or 2-3 for a manicured, gel polish salon look. Layerable, and very easy to paint on. Not runny, not too thick. I'm also a certified nail tech, and this IS real gel polish and not some sort of drugsture gel mock product. 5/5

Product Performance:  A+++ This stuff allowed me to do what no other nail product has ever done, grow out my nails! No chips, no nail breaks, no bends in the nails, or weaknesses. The product doesn't chip, or peel easily. It drys fast, and evenly. It's true to tone, and the thickness and texture is of real gel polish without the UV Lamp. The protein enriched formula delivers and noticable changed my bitten nubs into actual nails!  5/5

Can you use for HD Film Use/TV?: Yes, the taupe looks fantastic for a natural nail, or just the pink clear. The pink clear makes the nails look healthy, and washes out any yellow tones of the nails making them appear clearer and brighter. Great for a natural look if you're doing a TV show, cooking show, commericial etc. Drys fast!

Can you use for everyday Use?: Yes

Overall Review: This nail polish has been a miracle worker for me and the photos tell it all! My nails are on their way finally to being strong and beautiful after almost an entire lifetime so far of flaking, and brittle nails. I would suggest this to anyone, nail tech or everyday consumer! 5/5
