Hello lovelies, now that the holiday season has officially started it is time to get in the spirit! Celebrate the upcoming holidays with a pretty makeover for your nails. This year I've decided to do a very simple manicure with a cute holographic accent on the ring finger. Everyone can recreate such a cheerful manicure at home with no problems. So stay tuned if you are searching for a holiday manicure for your nails!
The very first two colors, which pop in my mind when I think of Christmas are cranberry red and holographic (if you can call holo a color). Cranberry red reminds me of a traditional sauce, used for many holiday dishes. And rainbow holographic reminds me of Christmas tree decorations. That's why, in my opinion, this miraculous color combination is perfect for a holiday manicure.
Continuing my peel-off nail polish epopee, I've decided to give it a second chance an try out a different peel-off nail polish from the Warm Crit Series*. This gorgeous cranberry red shade is called 'Dreaming Star.' This classic and elegant shade of warm red perfectly fits the festive Christmas mood. As any other peel-off nail polish by Born Pretty, 'Dreaming Star' comes in a regular bottle and features a pretty comfortable brush-applicator. This nail polish is almost odorless, especially if you will compare it to a regular nail polish scent. It has a very light aroma of paint, but it doesn't stay in the air as long as the scent of acetone.
The formula of this peel-off nail polish is slightly different from the shade 'Ms Style' from the Sweet Bubble series. It is less thick and more supple when you apply it on your nails. Working with 'Dreaming Star' is so much easier and pleasant! It easily glides on the nail plate smoothly and evens out small imperfections on the surface of your nail. The pigmentation is very rich, you can get a gel-like coverage with only one solid coat. This time, the nail polish dried a bit faster but not so quick as a regular nail polish would dry.
For my simple and glamorous Christmas manicure, I applied 'Dreaming Star' peel-off nail polish on every nail, except my ring finger. Two thin layers of nail polish usually dry out faster and easier than one thick layer of color. To make my manicure last longer, I sealed the nails with a coat of no smudge clear Top Coat by Born Pretty and proceeded to my ring fingers. This glittery holographic nail polish in the shade 'Champagne Storm'* reminds me of a Christmas tree decoration - a glass ball covered with sparkly glitter. I used a sponge and gently dabbed holographic glitter on my ring finger for an opaque finish. Sealed the glitter with a top coat to reveal rainbow sparkles and voilà! The Christmas glam manicure is done!
The durability of peel-off nail polish is quite satisfactory. It lasted for about a week with minor tip wear, but the cranberry nail polish lost its original shine and appeal. No questions to the glitter holographic nail polish. It can last on my nails until forever or until the moment I decide to remove it. And removing an opaque glitter coat is not an easy task!
Overall, I loved the way this simple, yet festive manicure looks. It is super fast and easy to do and you don't have to buy any extra manicure tools or have a manicure experience to reach a beautiful and neat result.
