Want to put a more realistic, creepy feel to the typical halloween cat makeup? Check out this step by step look I created for you, which you can do easily at home without purchasing a ton of theatrical products!

Products  you will need:

  • A theatrical cream, lipstick, powder eyeshadow or cream liner in Brown, Black, Grey, White and Yellow and Pink
  • Final Seal or Makeup Setting Spray
  • Black liquid eyeliner Liner.
  • Some cosmetic Brushes good for detail
  • Cat Teeth if you wish
  • Cat Eye contacts if you want.
  • Cat Ears

You can easily create this look quickly in a couple of steps! I used all Mehron cream colors for this, but like I mentioned you could use eyeshadow too, it just might take you a little longer due to the texture, cream is much easier to blend!

This is me before the makeup!

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

STEP 1: Begin contouring your face with a white shade in the face shape of a cat's! You can pick any kind of cat you want! I chose to do a weird mix up between a cheetah, a house cat and a cougar. Make sure you use reference, it really helps to look at an actual cat. Highlight a face cat's muzzle around your mouth, and your nose and eye area.  I already had eyeliner on and was obviously too lazy to wash it off, so take your makeup off too before you do this!

STEP 2: Get an idea of what sort of facial shape you want your cat makeup to have, again use some reference it will help! Use your brown shade to do this, and sort of draw freely on the face to get an idea of where you want the dark shadowing to go. This is what will make your makeup pop!

STEP 3: Next shade with with your white and grey colors more heavily, blocking out the brows. Shade under the now fake brow arch with grey to make it look more realistic. Add a pink nose in the shape of a cats, large than your own nose of course on the tip of your nose. Make sure you draw your cat nose farther outwards that your real nose extends to give it the illusion of actually being the size and shape of a cats. Line with black slightly, flaring it out at the nostrils to make it seem wider. Color your nostrils black, and add some black to the inner corners your lips. Fade grey down the bottom lip. Already starting to appear kitty like!

STEP 4: Detail and blend! Start to add furry like details in brown and try to blend your brown and white together, with the exception of the mouth area which we want to remain quite stark. I actually added MORE dark brown to the mouth area and didnt blend it at all. I also added white detail to the lips, and a brown furry streak to my chin.

STEP 5: Black and more detail! Go crazy with your eyeliner! I lined the top eye in a heavy cat eye, and the bottom lid, flaring the bottom lid inward and the top outwards. I added some cute spots to the sides of my face and darkened the mouth area again!

STEP 6:  Add spots and whiskers! Dot your face with kitty markings in black, and further shade the creased areas of your makeup. I also added whiskers in black! Add ears and contacts and you are finished!
