Hi!

Today I have quite a bunch of awesome eyeshadows to review. I've just recently gotten to know Dark Heart Designs and I personally love everything I've tried from them! These shadows I have are sample sized (1g of product!!) and they come in these bigger-than-average clam shells.

The whole package was really cute coming with a little thank you note and a drawstring bag with the Dark Heart logo on it.  I'm a total sucker for cute packaging so i'm in love :D!!

(that little bottle there is liquid shimmer, awesome but very hard to swatch so I'll be leaving that out!!)

...let's get on to swatching!

I normally take eyeshadow swatches on my eyes but I noticed with these shadows, it was better to do them on my arm. That way I get to show the shades better!

Bone Daddy

Bone Daddy is the ultimate highlighter and I LOVE it! I think ever since I got it I've been using it on my brow-bone everyday. It's a very shimmery golden-toned bone-ish shade. It's a duo-chrome shade but the golden/orange tones are subtle. It can be applied lightly for just a bit of glow or more heavily for full coverage. I personally love a light shade like this and I'm sure I'll be getting this in full size soon.

Ava

Ava is a great satin neutral that has a lovely golden undertone. It's the only one of these shadows I have that isn't super shimmery or glittery but it definitely isn't boring. The shadow itself is very smooth to apply and it has great coverage. I also love the not-matte-but-not-shimmery texture of it if you guys know what i mean. It's a great basic shade and goes with any look! Nothing to complain about here.

Totally Bonkers

Totally Bonkers is a lovely golden yellow with a lot of sparkle. I think it's a more easy shade of yellow than some, since it isn't all in-your-face-yellow but it's still fun and bright. It's very  glittery, so I think to get the best result you might want to use something like Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy under it to minimize glitter fall-out.

Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy is a super-shimmery light golden/coral-toned pink. It's a very sweet pink and I think it's the type of shade that would flatter all kinds of skin tones. I've used this one as a cheek-highlighter too and it does awesome job with that!  It's not too pink, so it looks awesome paired with some neutrals too.

Elegant Machine

Elegant Machine is one of my favorites out of all of these. It's a beautiful glittery rose gold with a lot of coppery undertones. It's so pretty! I'm not even usually very interested in anything that looks even a bit like a brown shade but this is just too pretty to pass. The coverage is awesome, it's very opaque even without a primer and it goes on so smoothly. I'm definitely picking up a full size when I've used this up!

Cup Of Crazy

Cup Of Crazy is a beautiful & bright shimmery lime green. It's a pretty light shade of lime that isn't too bright but isn't boring either. I normally don't wear bright greens like this, but this one is a bit more wearable than a lot of other brighter greens in my opinion. It also has beautiful warm shimmer in it that i really like.

We Found Love

We Found Love is a lovely green/gold duochrome, just the type of green I go for! I love golden tones in eyeshadows and this shadow has just the perfect amount of beautiful golden shimmer in it. The coverage is awesome again and the shadow just glides on!

Hollywood Has Been

I think the Dark Heart Designs website describes this shade the best: "A pale blurple (bluish-purple) shadow with copper sparkle and copper undertones." I was thinking how would I describe it since when you first look at it it seems to have a bit of everything. A very unique and fun shade that is still very wearable.

Amazing

A beautiful turquoise/teal with pink/purple shimmer. For some reason, this shade reminds me of mermaids!  I don't know why but I think that's a good thing. I don't often go for teal-ish shades of blue like this, but I love this one. The shimmer isn't as sparkly in this shadow as it's in some of the others, this has a bit more subtle sheen to it. It has more like this beautiful pinkish glow to it than full-on glitter!

I first thought Hollywood Has Been and Amazing were very similar, but after I put them next to each other I noticed not so much.

Gilded Girl

Gilded Girl is a gorgeous red-brown shade that looks almost metallic to me. This is another one of my faves and it's ridiculously pigmented! It only takes a gentle swipe of this shade to get it completely opaque. Another one I'll be getting in  full-size!

Marry the Night

Out of all of these, I think I love Marry the Night the most! It was love at first sight, it was the first clam-shell I wanted to open and I've been wearing it a lot ever since. It's a very pigmented blackened dark blue that has a bit of a metallic-ish satin finish. I'm a sucker for dark shimmery shades like this and this is just, dark, shimmery perfection!!

Overall, I don't have anything bad to say about any of these shadows! I normally even hate clam-shells but I kinda love these clam-shells haha :D. I hope this wasn't a boring review but these are just perfection :D!
