6 Summer Makeup Trends You Need To Try Right Now

The long wait is over and it's officially summertime! Along with poolside parties and long, lazy summer days in chill mode, summer is all about letting loose and having fun! Experiment with some cool, new looks and color palettes. Earlier in the spring, we explored summer's biggest makeup trends for you to look out for. Here's your latest inspiration and everything you should be trying right this moment.

SEASHORE EYES:

Refreshing blue eye makeup is making a comeback along with other early circa 2000 trends. Add a pop of powder blue with a wash all over the lids reminiscent to the late '90s and early 2000s.

If you're not up for a full on lid of bold color, try colored eyeliner. A more modern approach of applying color to the eyes is by applying the liner to the cut crease. You get color and bold impact at the same time! Or just apply to the upper lashline over black liner or on its own for a fun accent liner.

Warm up your aquatic color palette with rich hues in brown, orange and burgundy. These shades bring out an earthy, summery vibe and the contrasting shades really make the blue shades pop even more.

For glam party vibes, add metallic gold to the center of jewel toned hues for a glistening like effect. For icy and powder blues, use silver or lilac shimmer.

An aquatic color palette suits all eye colors, so don't miss the chance to rock mermaid vibes this season.

GRAPHIC EYELINER:

When you think of summer, you don't necessarily think of heavily lined eyes, right? Thanks to the runway trends along with Instagram makeup trends, you'll still be seeing graphic liner this summer.

Wavy Liner

Dramatic eyeliner was everywhere on the fashion runway this spring season and it's one of the main trends to look out for. Bold cat eyes frame the eyes for larger and more lifted eyes and there's so many fun ways of wearing this look!

Cut Crease Graphic Liner

For heavily lined cat eyes with '60s Twiggy vibes, create a heavy cut crease liner look. Then, for a modern take on this look, extend the line from the lower lashline to connect to the end of the cut crease liner.

If you're feeling artsy, take this trend to next level by adding scalloped edges to create a one-of-a-kind look! Embellish with metallic or glitter liner and you've got butterfly wings!

Are you tired of traditional black eyeliner? Substitute black liner with neon green, eclectic blue and  yes, even ombre liner!

GLOSSY EYELIDS:

Glassy or glossy skin as well as wet hair are a few popular trends we've been seeing recently. This look is super badass and gives you a cool, lit from within look.

Types of Highlighters & How To Choose The Right One

If you're not a fan of looking drenched from head to toe, then you should consider glossy lids.  Glossy or wet eyelids in the past seemed to be reserved for editorials due to not being practical IRL (in real life). Glossy lids photograph really well and are perfect for Instagram. So how do we take this from the runways and wear it IRL?

Glossy Peach

Wet and glossy lids are an incredibly simple way to make your eye makeup stylish and trendy. The most easiest way to wear this look is adding gloss over rose hued or peach eye makeup for a barely there natural look. Pair with dewy skin and add a contrasting dark lip for a glam look.

Glossy Lids & Black Lips

GET THE LOOK:

Just dab the tiniest bit of your favorite clear lip gloss or lip balm on top of your eyeshadow for a dewy, glossy finish. Make sure it's a formula that's glossy not sticky and stays put throughout the day. Avoid the crease where products usually tends to crease and remember a little goes a long way, especially with this look.

Our summer-y fave glossy lid is adding a champagne or rose gold eyeshadow on the lids in a foil or metallic finish. Make sure to stay below the crease. Then, dab the gloss on top and voila, glossy glam lids with a gorgeous summer glow!

Looking for something a bit more fierce? Add the gloss over dark lid color for total runway vibes look.

Play around with combining different textures and finishes and even add a bit of glitter or metallic eyeshadow for extra dimension.

DREAMY SMOKEY:

If you're in the mood for a sultry eye look, but don't want to spend hours washing off layers of black eye kohl, false lashes and other 'smokey' accessories, than you should try out a lightweight version of the classic smokey eye.

Dusty gray, slate and sage smokey eyes give the perfect smokey eyes without looking too harsh. Add modern elements such as colored liner and a glittery accent for a fun, summer look.

Pair faded salmon and summery peach makeup with shimmering milky shades for such dreamy smokey eye makeup looks. The contrast between soft pastels and matte smokey hues creates a gorgeous effect!

Amp up your grey color palette by mixing around textures with glitter liner and even combing a bit of gold to warm up the look. You get the perfect combination of glam and grunge all at the same time!

Taupe hues in beige, violet and brown add an earthy feel and are the perfect neutrals to complete any look. This effortless color palette creates the perfect, summer hazy smokey eyes with absolute bohemian vibes.

Lilac Glam

Use the same taupe color palette and combine with rosy mauves in shimmering shades for a summertime soft glam smokey.

VIVID LIPS:

Summertime is all about a good, pop of color. Something everyone could incorporate into their looks is bright and juicy lips this summer season. From lucid coral shades to bright and juicy watermelon lips - there's a shade for every taste. Leave your eye makeup as neutral and natural as possible to focus all the attention on your vivid statement lips.

COLORED LASHES:

Frisky colored lashes have been around for decades and now, together with hot summer weather, colored mascara trend is back again. Forget everyday boring black and brown mascara and try out fun, summery shades like neon pink, electric yellow and forest green. Not ready for a such a bright change? Go for a dark purple or deep navy blue mascara - they are just as fun, but are a bit more suitable for everyday makeup.

Don't have colored mascara in your arsenal? No worries, just paint your lashes with colored liner or even liquid lipstick!

We hope you enjoyed this post and found some new trends to try this summer!
