Recent studies show that a women looks her worst at about 3 pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Why?

It's the middle of the week and most of us suffer from the mid-week afternoon slump. And you thought Monday's were bad!

Here are five great energy boosting tips that have worked fabulously for me.

All of these can be done during restroom breaks, lunch, between appointments, etc.

The best part, they don't involve chocolate or coffee, so you don't feel the sugar crash later!

In no particular order...

1. Squats and/or Lunges

Before you click the "x" hear me out.

A quick rep of 10-15 squats and or lunges will not only get your bottom in great shape, but this will increase your blood flow and circulation.

The short reps can be done in just a few minutes without leaving you feeling sore or tired.

This is just enough to increase your blood flow, get your body warmed up and increase your metabolism.

All leaving you re-energized.

2. Drink Water

Many of us opt to drink coffee or other caffeinated beverages before even thinking of water.

Drinking an adequate amount of water will prevent toxins from being stored in your body and

make sure that you're not dehydrated which can often wear us down.

Quick tip, for every cup of coffee/caffeinated beverage you drink, drink a cup of water after.  It doesn't have to be immediately after, just alternate between drinks.

That way, you don't need to keep count of how many cups of water you drink a day and you don't overdo the caffeinated drinks.

3. Surround yourself with Greenery

Get outdoors, absorb a little sun and surround yourself with greenery.

If your job doesn't permit you to go outdoors, try bringing plants indoors.

Plants not only spruce up and liven the atmosphere of a boring cubicle but are proven to make people at work, happier.

4. Take a power nap

This is how I survived my college years!

Find a quiet and relaxing space and take a 10-20 minute power nap.

This will refresh your mind, clear your thoughts & leave you alert and refreshed.

Now you know why babies have extra energy after napping throughout the day=)

5. Eat Fruits & Vegetables

It's often easier to eat fruits & veggies after meals or in between meals.

Skip the salty and crunchy snacks and try swapping them for strawberries, baby carrots, plums or red grapes.

These healthy foods are packed with antioxidants which are convenient to take on the go.

So, you're not only getting your daily fruit/veggie intake but your strengthening your immune system &

these nutrients will leave you with glowing and radiant skin.
