Q: What does makeup/beauty/fashion mean to you?
A: I believe makeup is a means to express yourself. I love the transformation makeup allows. You can have a different face every day. However, beauty is very subjective, it depends on what media tells us is attractive at the moment to make us willing to fit a certain mold. Which is usually what will make us feel inferior and ready to spend more money to buy useless products. Health is most important to me.
Q: When did you start getting into makeup/beauty/fashion?
A: I got into makeup when I was 14. Before that, I was using only lipgloss. At 14, I bought my first lipstick and my first black eyeliner. Dyed my hair black for the first time too. This is when I started exploring different looks and styles.
Q: What's your 1st ever beauty product?
A: It was a Bourjois lipgloss! A pale pink sparkly color. I loved it so much then and I’m still repurchasing this product. I’ve tried more shades and it’s still lovely so many years later.
Q: What's your favorite makeup brand and why?
A: It’s been MAC since I first started using their products in 2007. I’d tried so many different foundations before I tried MAC Studio Fix and fell in love. I love MAC because of many reasons. I’m rarely disappointed by their products. I also love what they stand for – they are very inclusive. MAC is for all ages, all races, all sexes. I like Illamasqua too. Illamasqua’s products never disappoint and the packaging is gorgeous!
Q: Name the one makeup product you cannot live without and why?
A: It’s foundation! I have combination skin and I’m in love with Estee Lauder Double Wear to keep my skin matte all day.
Q: What’s your best makeup tip?
A: Don’t overdo it. I know highlighting and contouring is very popular right now and I love it too, but what looks good in pictures isn’t always good in daylight.
Q: What’s the one thing your viewers don’t know about you?
A: It’s far from only one thing. Many people don’t know that I’m an ex-MAC artist. I also love mystery literature and vintage lifestyle.
Q: Why/When did you start posting videos/blog?
A: I first started posting videos on Youtube in 2014. Then I decided I didn’t like the quality and deleted all of them. I’ve had my blog since 2014 too. I’m going to start posting videos again once I find a way to improve the lightning in my room.
Q: Who's your biggest (beauty/fashion) inspiration (Youtuber, blogger, MUA, etc) and why?
A: It’s always been Dita Von Teese. I love this woman. I recently bought her beauty book and it’s really helpful. I just love how she always stays classy and elegant. She isn’t trying to be fashionable, she is just stylish in a '40s / '50s way. She taught me you don’t have to be pretty to be glamourous.
